We are heading to Hebrews chapter six and perhaps the most - TopicsExpress

We are heading to Hebrews chapter six and perhaps the most difficult passage in the Bible to interpret but of enormous importance to all believers. If you want to see how difficult read ahead a few verses into chapter six. In order to understand this difficult passage it will be crucial to understand the context. The context is in Hebrews 5:11 where the writer tells his audience that he trying to teach them something really important about Jesus but it is difficult because the readers are dull of hearing. Being dull of hearing is the first step towards demonstrating that someone never has had saving faith in Christ. UCLA released a study of its students and said that 65% of students who professed faith in Christ gave up Christianity while attending college. What does it mean to be dull of hearing? This should be something every believer in Christ needs to know and to strive to avoid. The consequences of dull hearing can be fatal and I want to encourage everyone in our Church to desire and keep growing in Christ so as to avoid this terrible condition.
