We are heading up efforts to show off our party’s candidates and hopefully help gain votes for each candidate. We think the exposure at this event will be a great place to start. We had originally planned to hold a “Meet & Greet” for the candidates at the Winston Community Center however our plans have slightly changed and grown in size but worth so much more! The date is still set for Saturday, August 2, 2014. The location has changed but only by a few miles! We are joining forces with the Petersen family in conjunction with the 2014 Annual Petersen Memorial Ranch Rodeo and Dutch Cook-Off which happens to be on the same day we planned to host the Meet & Greet in Winston. From shooting events to Dutch Oven cooking to ranch rodeo events to relaxing and watching the participants in these events…guaranteed family fun for everyone! The event is held in memory of the Petersen’s late son Adam. For those who didn’t know Adam, he was one of the most patriotic young men I have ever met. He served our country very proudly. He was a Marine, home on leave, when he lost his life in a car accident. The Petersen family is so overwhelmed with pride and joy that we want to include patriotism in their celebration of Adams life that they have given us room under their big tents to set up during the day and the SPECIAL EVENTS at 6:00PM is solely dedicated to us! We would like to invite as many Republican Party candidates as we can. The SPECIAL EVENTS slot is for us! We need to do something big. A guest speaker(s) perhaps? We need suggestions and ideas. The Petersen’s are expecting over 200 guests from all over New Mexico. This would be a perfect time to rally for our candidates. For those who have not been to Winston, it is very remote therefore most of the guests attending this event will be camping out Saturday to attend Sunday’s events. There isn’t much to do around Winston so I think we can capture their full attention. We are also trying to coordinate a nice family orientated dance Saturday evening! We are looking for sponsors to help cover band costs. Instead of charging a cover charge at the door, we would rather accepts donations for the Adam Petersen Memorial Fund, which contributes to the Wounded Warriors Fund. A band has offered to play for $500. Anyone wishing to help sponsor, please let me know. it would be much appreciated! We would love for you to join our efforts!!!!
