We are here at City Hall to educate & change hung so #uber & #lyft can come into market in a responsible, sustainable way. For all of you who have used them in other cities & liked their services, there are things you dont know. I was in your shoes 5 years ago when I started the Wave & had no idea if a taxi/limo was legal or not. We love that all of you come to us bc of that knowledge! Please know we are not anti-uber or any of the hundreds of others who will show up. We are simply anti-money being about to buy a company out of taking any responsibility or regards to public safety. We have spent money by choice on many things we were not required to, we did so bc of a sense of obligation to Houstonians & our visitors. We ask for your support in those recommended changes & outreach out The Houston Wave, a fully licensed, permitted and inspected service by Houston, Texas. You all should demand & deserve to be safe. My niece has a phone & can download an app & catch a ride. I want to make sure the driver is properly licensed, permitted & the vehicle is permitted and inspected. We rely on the City of Houston Council Members to ensure our public safety is protected. Send your Council Member an email, tweet about it, and share the information about the Wave, which also serves to get cars off the road inside the loop which is heavily congested as it is!
