We are home! :) Hospital visit today due to Sophie complaining - TopicsExpress

We are home! :) Hospital visit today due to Sophie complaining about sore bones in the last few weeks, and nausea on and off, getting tired more easily than usual, a few other odd symptoms, then huge red circles appearing under her eyes over the last couple of days spreading to redness on most of her face today. Kabuki Kids are prone to autoimmune problems, platelette issues and a host of other complications, so when I saw the state of her face this morning we figured it was time to get her checked. Frank took her in, I went to work. She lost it and wanted Mummy so that was the end of work for the day, and a quick taxi ride to the hospital for me. Eight hours at the ER in total and no answers as to what it is...but on the bright side some nasties ruled out (ie leukaemia, ITP etc). She has elevated neutrophils and white blood count, but apparently not so high as to indicate major issues (ie cancer or major bacterial infection). Could be raised due to viral infection. Her creatinine level has risen again, indicating issues with kidney function. She has been deemed well enough to come home. Her primary care team will meet tomorrow to decide what other tests to run on her bloods (they took extra vials for this purpose) and we will be heading back to the endocrine clinic for further investigations of her kidneys. The high creatinine could explain the bone pain, but could be unrelated. So no definitive answers as yet. But no really bad news either. Thanks to everyone for your concern.
