We are home for the night; will go back tomorrow morning. The prognosis is not good at this point. Mom has lesions in her bones all over her body which is what is causing the pain. There is no way to fix it. They believe that it is the result of some type of blood disease, probably a cancer. The doctor was very straightforward with us, which I appreciate, and explained that his goal at this point is to keep her comfortable. She will see an oncologist tomorrow. She is in a tremendous amount of pain, the doctor called it a brutal pain. The temptation was to stay with her tonight, but if I was there she would fight and at this point she is so tired and so weak that I want her to be able to accept whatever relief might come to her tonight. I am heartbroken at the prospect of losing her but John, Jerry and I know what awaits her and let me tell you that even as stubborn as I am, there is no way I would ever stand between my sweet, sweet Mom and her heavenly family. Prayers are coveted.
