We are home from the Drs appt. now and Im relaxing at home on 24 hr bed rest. The news from the neurologist was both discouraging and somewhat positive. After reviewing the results of the myelogram he found there was damage to the vertebra above the already fused level. He said it appeared to be mashed at that level. He also stated that the fusion I had in 2010 never fused at all. (Discouraging part). He said that surgery will take place but it will be a very long surgery since hell go in from the back and the front. The recovery will be very long and difficult too.(Discouraging part). The positive part is that Dr OBrien is an expert at this kind of surgery and has done many of them. He also promised to get me through it. So, the actual surgery has not been scheduled since I have to get pulmonary clearance and cardiac clearance, and have to see the Internist and probably do some other testing first. I will need your prayers and emotional support over the next few months. I appreciate the friendship of my Facebook friends.
