We are home from the childrens hospital in Grand Rapids. David - TopicsExpress

We are home from the childrens hospital in Grand Rapids. David had an MRI and a bunch of tests done. They said he has something called complex regional pain syndrome. He had several drs and specialists in to see him. They said his condition is not often seen in kids. The dr I spoke with today said the concern right now is to make sure there is no chance of further injury. They are worried he might develop Reflex Sympathy Dystrophy, so they want to have him start physical therapy soon after he sees the new orthopedic and bone specialist next week. They also took the cast/splint off. They said with this type of injury it was the worst course of action to take and it contributed to his quick decline and sever shooting pains. He will still continue to have sever shooting pains for a while. They put him on a strict pain Meds schedule. Hopefully that will help. In the mean time, thank you so much for all the well wishes and prayers.
