We are like mice playing mousetrap, watching the amazing configurations of the trap as one fascinating maneuver after another propels the machinery into extraordinarily designed complexity. What is this amazing mechanical, technological scheme? What is it going to do next, what is the finale of the show. Finally, we see the trap above us. Its too late. The trap drops. It was all just to take us captive forever. We love money and all that it does, all that it buys us and all the productivity it creates. Like a mousetrap, we will never ever escape. We cannot serve both God and money. Either we will love God and hate money, or we will be devoted to money and despise God. If we dont despise money, then we have chosen to despise God. The trap has dropped for some, and they can never ever escape, because they will never ever abandon their master. We were meant to serve God, but we have been trapped into serving money. We cant pretend we dont know what Jesus Christ was talking about. We cant pretend we arent trapped. No one can be a disciple of Jesus Christ who doesnt give up all that is possessed by them. Woe to you who are rich, for you have already received your comfort. Woe to you who are well fed now, for you will go hungry. Woe to you who laugh now, for you will mourn and weep. Woe to you when everyone speaks well of you, its the traditions of your ancestors to speak well of false prophets. Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God. Blessed are you who hunger now, for you will be satisfied. Blessed are you who weep now, for you will laugh. Blessed are you when people hate you, when they exclude you and insult you and reject your name as evil, because of the Son of Man. If we serve money, we will never ever be satisfied. Go, sell your possessions and give it to the poor. They need it. Dont you see them lying in the streets suffering as you go about your business of serving money. That poor miserable soul you despise in your heart is the Lord Jesus Christ. Why do you despise him? Because you love money. Have you accumulated possessions for yourself here on earth? You have taken your share, and greedily devour the sustenance of a multitude. Is your home comfortable? Jesus Christ has no place to sleep. Are you well fed? Jesus Christ is hungry. Do you honor the traditions of your family, who taught you to work hard, get secure, buy a gun and fear the thief. What you should fear is hating these words. If in your lifetime you have received your good things, while the poor received bad things? Through all eternity the poor will be comforted in paradise. Those who found their comfort in wealth will be in agony. These are the words you have rejected to love money. There is no equality in eternity. Between the rich and the poor a great chasm has been set in place. Those in paradise will never experience torment or sorrow. No one in torment can ever cross over to experience even a drop of relief. The only chance we have for equality is here on earth. Without equality here, the rich are damned. These words are true, and the amazing mechanism of the mouse trap is nothing more than a deception to distract you from the trap. Believe whatever you choose. Eat, drink, be merry, buy, sell, build bigger banks to store all that you have amassed. But tomorrow you will die, and who will get all that you have accumulated? From generation to generation money has mastered the foolish, and Salvation has rescued those who needed it, who cried out for it. If we cant hear the truth, then even if someone rose from the dead to convince us, we would merely mock him with our hypocrisy and reject his words. Let whoever has ears hear.
