We are looking for Project Manager – Product Development (Electronics), Chennai. Reports To: Manager – Product Development (Electronics) Location: Chennai Position Responsibilities: - Establish and manage PD timing plan. - Coordinate prototype builds, testing, and deliveries as defined in the SOW and Feature by Phase agreements. - Lead PD team meetings - Assign PD tasks to internal Visteon product design resources. Arrange cross discipline technical reviews as required. - Main interface between the PD team, Manufacturing team, and Program Management. Support the Visteon Quality and Purchasing teams as required. - Main interface with the Applications/Resident Engineer - Manage engineering deliverables for VPDS gate reviews, launch readiness reviews, and VEP audits. - Ensure team is following Visteon and EPG processes. Obtain management deviation approval, if required. - Document lessons learned from program by phase and feed back to PD Team to update appropriate engineering documents. Ensure DFMEAs are updated with these lessons. - Report and track whiteboard deliverables (PD project status reports) per the Measurement and Analysis process. - Document and track all early prototype parts. - Manage customer Design Change Requests and Proposal Idea Change (PIC) log. - Lead PCCB meeting. (The PM may take responsibility) - Manage project Risks Issues Opportunities (RIOs) for PD. Ensure all product specification non-compliances have approved customer deviations. - Release components, documents, and end items into Visteon systems. - Compile design release notes for the product (ME, EE, S/W etc). - Organize and manage program forward model to current model transfer. Ensure project history is communicated to new design team. - Manage engineering deliverables for EPG quotes (as required). - Attend/Support Customer meetings. - Resolution and reporting of product design issues -- via 8D or other methods. - Lead the implementation of TQCM. - Lead product development warranty data analysis (as required for Current Model). - Review available project financial data. - Compliance with the development budget within PD - Solicit and implement BOM cost reduction ideas to meet/exceed project financial targets. - Communicate to management when reimbursements are due (parts shipped, services complete) and escalate if not on track.
