We are looking for your support and we need your help! For those of you who know me, you will know that I am a being who believes in all possibilities, that life has a certain magic to it when you bring awareness into every experience, and that with the right energy, the right consciousness, and the right action behind the intention everything can be achieved no matter how great the challenge. 10 weeks ago 33 year old Cory Johnson approached Dr. Stacey Scott of Woodgrove Pines Chiropractic Clinic and myself one year post opp from having 90% of a 3 inch intramedullary ependymoma tumor removed from the inside of his spinal cord and leaving him with the incredible blessing and tag of being considered paraplegic. After asking him directly what he wanted from me, he gently replied that his only goal was to walk again... and so my only answer was the logical choice... then its time to get playing. For the past 10 weeks Cory Johnson has worked and he has worked and he has worked. Never once complaining about any exercise he has been given, but always embracing the challenge with a smile on his face, a high five waiting to be given, and huge appreciation and gratitude for the tremendous support around him. Support that is growing daily from people of all ages as they watch firsthand Corys radical transformation unfold before their eyes. Our facility at the moment at Woodgrove Pines clinic is not currently equipped with the traditional equipment that you would need for rehabilitation for someone having Cory’s type of experience and wanting to walk again, and in turn it has become our greatest blessing because it has forced us to get extremely creative with everything that we use. We have used blocks, steps, upper body machines as leg presses, cable machines for hamstring curls, walker’s backwards, and even my shoulder to get isometric contractions out of his lower body to build strength. I believe it is truly because we have allowed ourselves to stay grateful, to stay playful, and to stay inspired every step of the way and always look for a way that it has worked. Today 10 weeks after having met this amazing soul, Cory Johnson took the second first steps of his life again – completing 6 life changing full steps before having to sit from both exhaustion and emotion. Here is where we are humbly reaching out because we need some help. We have officially come to a place where we have maximized the use of the equipment we currently have. Cory is need of a few extremely important key pieces of equipment to help get him truly back on his feet and grounded on the earth again. One being an exercise medical rehabilitation treadmill that would fully support him in walking: h-p-cosmos/en/index.htm another is a proper lower body leg press and other lower body and core stability machines that he can work within to give him the strength and endurance he would need to walk steadily. In order to make this a reality for Cory we need to raise approximately $35,000 plus dollars. Donations are going to be tax deductable and anything and everything helps support Cory in reaching his goals and continue to make miracles his way of being. I can honestly full heartedly say your support is truly appreciated by him and everyone connected to him. The amazing part is that donations have already started coming in before we have even had the chance to mention we were going to ask for help. Life is pretty awesome! Cory Johnson knows I’ll be walking with him forever and regardless of the equipment I will find away to get him running in this lifetime as the world is our playground, however this equipment would significantly speed up that process for him. It is my sincere hope that by January 2014 we can create the space for Cory and others to truly be given the opportunity to show up for their lives in ways they never could have imagined. Our gratitude goes out to all those sending through the energy to heal for Cory and the support to help him physically get back on his feat again. It has truly been my grace to have been given the opportunity to watch miracles happen through Cory every time he shows up to play.
