We are mourning the passing of longtime Sonoma Valley HS wrestling - TopicsExpress

We are mourning the passing of longtime Sonoma Valley HS wrestling coach Deets Winslow, who was killed in a boating accident this past weekend. Deets was one hell of a coach and he built upon the tradition that his father Roger started before him and between the two of them established what has been the most consistently successful wrestling team in the history of the Sonoma County League. He was always a fiery competitor on the mat and in the corner who was passionate about his athletes and the sport of wrestling. You always had to be ready to compete against them and some of our greatest battles, both victories and defeats, came at the hands of Deets coached teams. All of us at Healdsburg Wrestling would like to send our condolences to the entire Winslow family and everyone else connected to the Sonoma wrestling program. Our thoughts and prayers are with you Deets, you will be dearly missed and wrestling in the Sonoma County League and the Redwood Empire will never be the same.
