We are now eight days into 2015 and it better start getting better. Barb tore her right bicep and is scheduled for an MRI tomorrow morning and most likely surgery within a week or two. The VA phoned this afternoon and the surgery to remove the tumors from my bladder is scheduled for Monday around noon. Barbs mother has pneumonia and is failing physically and mentally. For the first time ever, she did not recognize us today. We stopped by her mom and dads house for maybe the last time. The house that use to be a home, sits empty of all belongings, but most importantly, it is empty of the lives that once filled the rooms with laughter, the aromas of Sunday dinners, the afternoon visits with the day-to-day small talk and the ever-present, three oclock Ellen show. We are reminded of the special times we had with them in this house and the memories they gave to us, to Heather and Greg, and especially to MacKenzie and Joshua. Grandmas strawberry jam is the best in the world. Your thoughts and prayers are indeed welcome. Well get past January and start the year all over again--its going to be a good one. :)
