We are now in Rome! The travel gods were so good to us in England, but they must have said good-bye at the security checkpoint. Easyjet decided to enforce the 1 cabin bag rule. That isnt 1 bag and a personal item; it is very literally 1 bag can go into the plane with you. So I emptied my purse into the souvenir bag and folded the purse up and added it as well. The backpack had to go in the hold and there was a £45 pound charge when doing that at the gate! That is like $80US dollars!!! And, to add insult to injury, I had to take the empty purse out of the bag to get something and managed to leave it on the plane. :( I didnt even notice until we were unpacking at the hotel. Have already sent an email to Easyjet but dont really have much hope I will ever see it again. Crappy way to start the Italy leg of the trip. Maybe seeing the Coliseum will put me in a better mood.
