We are now in the blessed month of Muharram. It is important we start our new Islamic year (1436) in a good state and inshallah make it a better year than the previous year. We also pray to Allah talaa to make it a better year for all our Muslim brothers and sisters all over the world and to lift the oppression which many are suffering. “The best (month) to fast after Ramadan is the Month of Allah which you call al-Muharram. The best prayer after the obligatory prayer is the night prayer.” (Muslim). Both fasting and the night prayer have been made easy in the winter. A hadith mentioned in Ahmed and Al-Bayhaqi states that winter is like spring for a believer: the night is long so he is able to stand in prayer in it, and the day is short so he is able to fast during it.
