We are often told that we must follow Gods will and Gods commandments. Psalm 101, in verse 2-5, offers some practical advice on how we can do that: I will study the way that is blameless. When shall I attain it? I will walk with integrity of heart within my house; I will not set before my eyes anything that is base. I hate work of those who fall away; it shall not cling to me. Perverseness of heart shall be far from me; I will know nothing of evil. One who secretly slanders a neighbor I will destroy. A haughty look and an arrogant heart I will not tolerate. To obey Gods will, we have to study the Holy Bible, the teachings of the great spiritual Fathers and Mothers, the Liturgy, and the teachings of the Church. We cant expect instant results. We also have to cultivate honesty and moral conduct in our families and our circle of friends. We have to avoid looking at words and images that distract us from God. We have to stay away from people who have turned away from God in their habits and way of life, including actions and attitudes that hurt others.
