We are pleased to announce that confirmation was received today from Kent County Council regarding the measures which will be implemented in the St Dunstans area in due course. These will be as follows: * Retain the existing roundabouts * Retain the existing pedestrian crossing in North Lane as a light controlled crossing and add appropriate guard railing. (The crossing remains in its existing position away from the roundabout) * Provide a new pedestrian crossing in Station Road West away from the roundabout with appropriate guard railing * Advertise a regulated width and height restriction on the Towers * Retain the widened footways in St Dunstan’s Street, replacing the temporary materials * Advertise a 20mph speed limit for the area around the Towers * Retain the area wide weight restriction on HGV’s implemented during the trial We believe these measures to be a sensible compromise and thank those at KCC responsible for the common sense approach they have obviously adopted when considering these final plans for the area. -- Get Canterbury Moving
