We are pleased to announce that the Animal Cruelty Task Force was instrumental in securing a guilty plea for Anthony Bell, the man who beat a dog named Snoopy to death with a brick in June. The EPD and Prosecutors Office did an outstanding job in investigating and prosecuting this crime. Members of the Task Force are Sarah Brown, EPD; Alisa Webster, Director, Animal Control; Kelly Yarde, Animal Control Officer; Susan Odoyo, Special Prosecutor. Below is the press release from the Prosecutors Office. Justice served for Snoopy! Anthony Bell Jr. has pleaded guilty to Killing a Domestic Animal – Class D Felony, Torturing or Mutilating a Vertebrate Animal – Class D Felony and Conspiracy to Commit Dealing in Marijuana – Class D Felony. Bell will be sentenced to 3 years on each charge. These charges will be served concurrently. Bell has also pleaded guilty to a Habitual Substance Offender Enhancement which brings an addition of 5 years to his sentence in the Indiana Department of Corrections.
