We are pleased to announce two new updates for RetroN 5, bringing some great new features to the table that youre sure to enjoy. The first update also marks the beginning of our public BETA testing program which will allow us to showcase the latest cutting edge features as they are developed. The BETA software line will be kept separate from the standard STABLE line, and those of you who do not want to risk running into bugs should stick with the stable releases only. This release includes everything from the recently released v1.6 stable build, with the addition of the fast cartridge loading feature which allows near instant playback of supported cartridges, even large 32MB games. Currently GBA, SNES and Genesis cartridge are supported. This patch reduces the amount of time you need to hold the POWER button to power on RetroN 5 and generally speeds up the boot process. Its use is completely optional, and it is persistent - once installed the change is permanent and you wont need to re-install it later. Please note that both of these releases should be considered BETA and thus carry a small risk of bugs being present. Both releases may be downloaded from the page linked below.
