We are proud to announce that on Monday we will have a fully operational garden ready for viewing. We welcome all to come and see our successes and learn about our mistakes. In all honesty the garden project ate up a monumental amount of time and resources to pull off. The plus side is that the knowledge we have gained is monumental. We would like to invite all our fans to view the COMMENTS section of this article ... vindy/news/2011/oct/10/green-light/ The new garden lighting system is at a minimum 100 times more powerful and efficient than the commercial Harbor Freight system we put up. How funny it is however that the LED lights in our garden when this article was published would have cost at least $40 each, we got them for $8. Our biggest education is in the actual growing of the plants, which now that our grow cam is pounding out video we hope to have some stop motion soon. Watch our garden grow, like our community as we envision our history, the celebration of it, aggressive urban farming, the educating and empowering of our city, and much more. Hats off to our #1 facebook promoter Ms. Linda Gens, my time to write is so limited, but now that we are DONE with everything we promised YNDC we would accomplish, and are poised for public viewing, I am forcing some time out of my day to update our status. If facebook was depending on me to make posts our site would probably have 5 likes. Kudos also to Joe and Sharon, they are without a doubt the very best on site people we have had, and I have been here for a LONG time. I am personally very pleased to welcome the public to our completed project on Monday. As the lead engineer on the project it is a great personal sense of accomplishment. It is dimmed greatly however by the undying devotion of my Executive Director, and the complete commitment of our live in staff and our County WEP girls that just Rock this place.
