We are proud to have a new Director of Keyboard Studies at Hutchinson Community College. Dr. Matthew Cash teaches Aural Skills, Keyboard Skills, Accompanying, and Music Appreciation. Before coming to Kansas, Dr. Cash taught classes at the University of Houston. Matthew holds both Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) and Master of Music degrees from the University of Houston Moores School of Music. His doctoral dissertation is the first to survey the solo piano repertoire of Armenian-American composer Dianne Goolkasian Rahbee (click on the link below to hear Dr. Cash in a live performance of Rahbee’s First Sonata for piano). When he is not teaching or performing, he enjoys spending time with his family. The experience, talent, and passion that Dr. Cash brings to HutchCC is yet another reason why the Music program we offer is exemplary.
