We are quickly heading into the peak of hurricane season so its no surprise we have a disturbance worth watching. Disorganized showers and storms east of the lesser Antilles has a 50-50 shot of become a tropical depression over the weekend as it moves through the Caribbean sea. Where the system goes from there, will depend on IF/WHERE the low pressure actually develops. Some models take the system out to sea late next week while others take it into the Gulf of Mexico next week. Bottom-line, the models are practically useless this far out, especially since the system has not even developed yet. If youre reading this, you obviously have access to the internet. That means you can see the same models I use, grab a screen shot and post away. Unfortunately, some are posting images of a major hurricane hitting the United States in 8 - 10 days. Thats just ridiculous and only causes hysteria and misinformation to circulate wildly. PLEASE know your sources before sharing misinformation! My concern is with our area. Trust me. If there is something for you to worry about, Ill tell you. For now, you have ZERO reason to be concerned. Just be prepared...we are in the heart of the hurricane season!
