We are returning from two nights in New York. We chose to come to NY for our anniversary to see a play. The play we wanted to see was canceled so we decided to spend our time in the Metropolitan Museum of Art. What an incredible display of history. A 4000 year old Egyptian Tomb is there for examination. The guys in the these two pictures caught my attention. I am pretty sure that their intent is to hurt somebody. We knew we were in New York when two little old ladies muscled in front of us on the escalator leading to Penn Station from the train platform. The next morning, on our way to the subway station, an elderly lady watering her flowers on the stoop to her apartment said, Welcome to New York, as we walked by. I guess our tourist badges were showing. I love New York but two days is about all I can take. The crowded, noisy streets start to take it toll. With that said, the sights, culture, people, and food are a real treat. The tough construction guy, the friendly waitress, the business people, and the various street people provide an enlightening glance into the world of humanity. I am always struck by the sheer volume of people residing on the island and the diversity. ATMs and ticket machines have over six languages to choose from for instructions. It is another world. A fun place to visit yet not a hard place to say good bye to.
