We are sad to report that the Christmas tree at Kibble Park in Gosford has been subject to vandalism over the weekend, resulting in extensive damage. In the attack, we had a number of decorations broken; including the wooden candy canes that were thoughtfully made by the Gosford Men’s Shed. Some of the fibreglass bows were also smashed, and around 8,000 lights were pulled off and are now no longer working. While investigations into this vandalism are continuing, it is disappointing that people would go to the considerable effort required to damage the tree, which was intended to share the Christmas spirit in Gosford City. As this Christmas tree is for everyone to enjoy during what should be a happy and festive time of year, let’s work together to ensure that all of our community assets are kept safe from this kind of damage.
