We are sharing this for Wayne County FOP lodge 94. While many other “Shop with a cop” programs focus on the Christmas season this FOP event allows needy children to “shop with a cop” for school supply’s, shoes and winter coats. The shopping trip takes place each August at MC Sports in Wooster. This retailer provides the items at a discounted price. The goal each year is to provide for 100 children.Prior to the event, school districts from around the county are encouraged to provide a list of children in need. Likewise, membership to the FOP is open to officers from any law enforcement agency in Wayne County. Several individual police agencies in Wayne County also host “shop with a cop” events in December and raise the funds via the sale of raffle tickets and do not do telephone solicitation.. Like the Back to School with F.O.P, these events aim to help children who are less fortunate.
