We are so excited to announce that Eric Shimp was accepted into the Neuro Restorative Rehab program in Carbondale, Illinois!!! This is a huge blessing to Eric and our family. This day has been our long awaited desire for Eric since the beginning of Erics tragic accident. Unfortunately, Indiana does NOT offer a rehab at this level so we had to seek Out-of-State rehab for him. We found out that eight people from Indiana had also applied to get into Neuro Restorative but only three actually were accepted....and Eric was one of the three. For that, we are feeling incredibly blessed. Eric will be in a state-of-the-art Rehab facility from 9:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday! A BIG difference from the 30 minutes of rehab he was getting at Golden in Indianapolis. We took Eric to Neuro Restorative on Wednesday. He was happy and is doing great! He is living with other people his age who also have traumatic brain injuries. He has a new buddy that he arm wrestles and plays thumb wars with! We are planning on bringing Eric home for good after his 3 to 6 month stay at his new Rehab. Thank you for your continued support and prayers. The IMPOSSIBLE IS POSSIBLE!
