We are so narrow-sighted in our beliefs. Just to prove it, I, someone who takes pride in being open-minded and far-sighted have been wrong about something for 38 years. I believed that the zip code had been around since, well, since the USPS was founded in 1792. I was wrong. The zip code was invented in 1963, a mere 50 years old. Keep this in mind whenever you think that how something currently is, is how it has always been; i.e. The Pledge of Allegiance, Our countries status amongst the world, the way human marriage and love are handled, the way God loves you, etc etc etc.
