We are so overwhelmed with the avalanche of Inbox post, cards, food, & mainly your love & prayers. Yesterday was hard of both of us--3 hr wait to see Hudsons Cancer Dr.-- then the trip to 2nd hospital for his first shot. The news was not good--the prostate cancer has spread to most of his bones--pelvis, hip joints, rib cage, sternum, & skull- so the hope of radiation is not option as of now.. His PSA--1165--norm is under 5. The Dr. has ordered for now, 4 shots [1 per month] 4600. each--medicare pays all but 360. for each until Jan 1st--then we all know everything is changing. I went to bed praying for the strength to give my precious husband the best care in my powers--he deserves no less than the very best.. I had a dream that he was leaning over my deathbed telling me how much he loved me..& he was praying to God to let him suffer some of my pain. [That is how he is} I feel like God was sending me a message that only he is the Great Physician--& we will go home to our maker on his time.. I feel a whole new perspective--Hudsons cancer is not curable- but the meds will strengthen his bones--& also slow the spread of the prostate cancer--thus buying us more time together.. Our greatest need is your continued prayers for every day now is a beautiful gift--one we will savor & enjoy as much as his pain level allows. God sent me this wonderful man--father--grandfather who is one genuine person--my best friend, & has been so good to me & my children. The odds say he could be with us even two years more or one friend whose condition of his father was the same as Hudsons, was able to hold on 6 weeks---so we are not going to count How Long but be sure every day is special. The Dr. told us he did not like to put a time frame on how long---I do so much agree. In the end I can look back with a lifetime of cherished memories-- and I plan to dwell on that..
