We are so very proud to host the 66th Annual SECA Conference in New Orleans and are so looking forward to seeing you next week. Please see the below information from your SECA Staff. Its Almost Time! We’re looking forward to welcoming you to the 66th annual conference. Here’s some information to make your attendance a little easier. The final conference program and an additional publication, Meet Our Presenters, is posted on the SECA website. Take some time to familiarize yourself with the program and the sessions that you want to attend. Advance planning can mean a truly meaningful and productive conference experience. southernearlychildhood.org/seca_conference.php We have a conference app for your smart phone or device that will help you get organized and provide you with updated information. If we have session cancellations, we’ll push through a notice on the app. You can download the free app by going to this page on the SECA website or by scanning the QR code on the flyer to the right. southernearlychildhood.org/seca_conference.php Do it now and you’ll have conference information at your fingertips! All conference sessions will be held in the Astor Crowne Plaza New Orleans hotel. You’ll find a schematic of the hotel meeting space on page 12 of the conference program. A conference schedule is located on page 2 of the program. Registration will open at 4:00 pm on Wednesday, January 14th. It will be located on the second floor of the hotel. If you’re planning on attending any of the morning sessions on Thursday, please stop by on Wednesday to pick up your registration materials so you’ll be ready to go! Don’t forget the ribbons to attach to your conference name badge. We try to make sure they are in the packet, but if something’s missing, don’t hesitate to ask. We have ribbons for: Child Care Professional, First Timer, Member, Student, Director Seminar, Trainer Institute, FOSSILS. (Students will need to have their student ribbon attached to their name badge in order to attend the Just for Students! event on Friday evening.) If you’re arriving at the airport in New Orleans, we’ve secured a special rate on the airport shuttle. You can valet at the hotel or use one of the nearby parking decks. For that information, go to our Hotel and Travel section on the conference page at southernearlychildhood.org/seca_conference_hotel_and_travel.php If you have registered for CEU’s, that information will be included with your registration packet. It’s important that you follow all directions as required by Pro Solutions to get full CEU credit for the conference. Don’t forget to pick up your complimentary copy of Their Name is Today: Reclaiming Childhood in a Hostile World at registration. This book, published by Community Playthings, has been provided by the company for every conference participant. Be sure to visit them in booth 207 and say “thank you”! We know you’re going to have a wonderful educational and professional experience at SECA 2015.
