Are you an African American nursing mom? The University of Massachusetts needs your help for breast cancer research! The University of Massachusetts is seeking African American nursing moms *living anywhere in the country* to donate a breastmilk sample for approved breast cancer research. Participants fill out a questionnaire, send in a milk sample, and receive $25 in thanks. Why African American moms? Our goal is to develop an assessment model of breast cancer risk for individuals. In our ongoing study we have about 400 women participating but only a few of these women are African American women. Increasing the participation of African American mothers in this research will ensure that its results apply to ALL women. We are ALSO looking, for a separate research effort, for nursing moms who have had or are expecting to have a breast biopsy, and for moms who have had breast cancer.
