We are the citizens of #Bulgaria and we support Basic Income as a tool which can help #EndPoverty and social exclusion. The forthcoming International day for the Eradication of Poverty (17 October) must raise awareness of the need to eradicate poverty and destitution in all countries. It is observed every year since 1993, when the United Nations General Assembly designated this day by resolution 47/196. The 2014 theme recognizes and underscores the demanding challenge of identifying and securing the participation of those experiencing extreme poverty and social exclusion. - according to the #UN. The idea for a Basic Income is deeply rooted in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on 10 December 1948 unfortunately little or even no direct actions have been successful in fighting social stratification and eradicating #poverty by now. Basic Income or Cash Transfers have been tested in many pilot projects around the world and have proven that they really work for the benefit of the hole society in eradicating extreme poverty and guaranteeing social security, realization and participation so we call for a serious consideration and direct steps towards implementing this economic measure in nations across the world for the betterment of our global society and civilization. We remind the people in power that they are OUR elected leaders and that real #democracy calls for the participation of every individual so they must work towards eradicating poverty once and for all. We remind all people that in fact eradicating poverty is not that hard, in fact: Overcoming poverty is not a task of charity, it is an act of justice.
