We are this on criminalization kick in America now and it is sickening. We are criminalizing be poor, being homeless, criminalizing the helpers, criminalizing those who peaceably assemble to seek a redress of grievances--even though that is supposed to be constitutionally-protected behavior. We are moving, slowly, but deliberately toward being a totalitarian state. All while the real criminals who exploit the poor, profit from paying so little their employees qualify for benefits, fight against unions, food stamps, and health insurance, and pollute like crazy, get rewarded with subsidies and tax breaks and are praised and given greater and greater power. Our democracy is getting turned on its head, our middle class disappearing, and its like no one even notices. Voters just keep electing the thieves and hooligans who are stealing their money and their quality of life.
