We are thrilled to be so chummy with new Lake County Animal Services Shelter Manager, Jennifer Ferguson. She is pushing hard for change in this small rural shelter and she has the experience to make it happen. She has the right idea, increasing adoptions and DECREASING intakes is what its about! From July 12-26th, Lake County Animal Services in Tavares, FL will be offering low cost adoptions, to decrease the chance of euthanasias at their shelter. This is the first time ever that the shelter has been able to offer lower cost adoptions, and just last month, the shelter held their very first adoption event, which was a Baby Shower to adopt out the mass numbers of puppies and kittens entering the shelter. The shelter had a line around the building and adopted more animals in one day than they typically do in two weeks time! Way to go Lake County, we cant wait to see what you come up with next!
