We are trying something new this year since several of our hives are light on stored honey and we want to make sure that they make it through the winter. In the past we put a hive top feeder on each hive but then had to take them off when temps dropped below freezing to prevent condensation from dripping on the hive below. This year we decided to try open feeding and used old hive boxes and our hive top feeders to create a feeding station. Stay tuned for the results. Verdict is still out.
