We are using the acronym F.A.I.T.H. to describe to us how to operate in faith. F. is first. FIND A PROMISE. What is your faith based upon? Is it based upon your talent or ability? If some of you were asked to sing a song, it wouldn’t be a big deal. You have experience singing in public. You could base your choice on your experience and your talent. If I was asked, I would be terrified, and you would be sorry. I have no talent in that area. God’s promises are the only basis for our faith. They are the only thing we can depend upon. They are the only thing that never changes. 2 PET 1:3-4 3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: 4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. Promises have been given to us that encompass our lives in the natural and in the Spiritual. All things are covered. You will never face a circumstance where there is not a promise you can claim. If you don’t know the promises of God, go and buy a pocket promise book today. 2 COR 7:1 Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. If I am sick, I can confess that by His stripes I am healed. If I need direction, I can declare if any lack wisdom, ask Him who gives liberally and without reproach. If I can’t pay my bills, I can confess He provides all my needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. I must base my faith on His promises. They are the only sure and steadfast foundation. I have been told there are more than 7400 promises in the Bible. If you are born again, you can put your name in front of every one of them. Every promise is God’s promise to you. Every situation of life, every need, every challenge is covered by these promises. Find them today, and speak them into your situation.
