We are very excited to host our first quarterly Community Chat on Tuesday, February 4, 2014, with key community stakeholders to discuss why Girls and Sports Matter, and what are the real barriers to play? Access, funding or engagement? Some community stakeholders that will participate include Pam Francis of TUSDs Educational Enrichment Foundation, Mary Snider, Oro Valley Town Council Woman and Amphi School Foundation Board, Natalie Fernandez Lee, financial advisor, soccer community advocate, and volunteer specialist, Don Tringali, Sporting Chance, Diane Bissell, Sunnyside School Foundation, Ally Baehr of So. AZ Girl Scouts, and hopefully, Andy Morales, educator, sportswriter, storyteller, to name a few. My Girl Power Community Chat hosts will include Martha McSally, Loree Swinford Thompson, Larry Sakin, Sheila Tobias and myself, Lucy Howell. Looking forward to a great discussion to see how we can work together to ensure access for all who want to play! Heres to the upcoming National Womens and Girls in Sports Day, Februry 5, 2014! mygirlpower.org/media-gallery/lets-chat/introducing-first-community-chat-let-play-examining-barriers-play-k-12-girls-pima-county-az/
