We are very excited to launch, for the first time at Beth Yeshurun - TopicsExpress

We are very excited to launch, for the first time at Beth Yeshurun Day School, a new relationship with the clergy of our home synagogue, Congregation Beth Yeshurun. Effective this summer, BYDS is inaugurating the Campus Rabbi position who will partner with our Judaic Studies Director and our schools leadership team to promote our mission of Judaic learning and Jewish values. The role of Campus Rabbi, to be filled by both Rabbi Brian Strauss and Rabbi Steven Morgen, will give our students, staff, and families the benefit of the larger perspective on developing the whole child, spiritually and academically. This will mean increased and frequent presence for our Rabbis in our school throughout the school year. One of the roles of the Campus Rabbi will be to issue regular communications, in the form of Dvrai Torah and valuable wisdom, to our families and faculty. In addition, we envision the Campus Rabbi to be available for all manner of keeping our traditions, celebrations, and our daily practices and studies vibrant, fresh, and meaningful. We have already begun this relationship this spring, in fact, with the formation of our Judaic Studies strategic planning committee, which is doing the same kind of work that our secular academic strategy team has been doing to elevate our program wherever possible, so that excellence is an across-the-board mandate. We are so excited to welcome Rabbi Strauss and Rabbi Morgen into the school in this capacity, along with the roles that the other clergy always play. Please follow the clergy on Facebook so you can follow their words of wisdom in real time! #byds
