We are working on getting Jesse as close as possible to the other dogs without him going over his threshold. By giving him specific jobs (place, here, down) we are giving his mind something to focus on instead of thinking as much about the dog that is RIGHT next to him. It is so important that we give him only opportunities to succeed and make the right choices so that he doesnt practice any bad behaviors. This will make the good choices HABITS. We also need to let him know that any outbursts or bad behavior are not acceptable or allowed, so he knows there are consequences in life as well. This will help him understand what is acceptable, what is proper behavior and what is unacceptable and bad or dangerous behavior. Remember, dogs understand things in plain black and white.
