We aren’t coming this time. We aren’t coming to rescue the girls. We are not going to spill American blood for Ukraine. Even if the old communists decide to seize a chunk of Poland, we are not coming. Some of us are tired. Some of us are just skeptical. Some who wear or wore overseas service stripes on their uniform sleeves now limp and wear artificial limbs and horrible scars. Were broke, $17 trillion in debt as a low estimate, and half of the country cares more about free phones and pills and apartments, than it cares about you. The elected leaders listen. Speaking of money, we point to our debt and the proportion of our GDP that we spend on our armed forces. Then, we look at how much European and other nations spend on GDP. You accused us of heavy-handed adventurism. Perhaps, but I think you should now consider us cured of that. We are not coming. Enjoy your own adventures. Americans are weary of making war on behalf of others. President Washington’s farewell address warning to avoid European entanglements is particularly appropriate now. So, to the world’s oppressed people, to the world’s people on the precarious boundary with an aggressor major power, to the world’s people north of the African equator and below the present Muslim boundary whose girls are kidnapped into slavery, whose churches are burned, whose women are raped, whose men have their hands or heads cut off... we are not coming. Oh, a few operators may be sent into harms way as a stupid political gesture, but do not expect us to land an infantry division, build an air base, create a supply infrastructure, and tirelessly and endlessly hunt down your oppressors. If you doubt this, just look at the frightening cuts our leaders are making to our military forces. If you are realistic and perceptive, you should draw inspiration from our right to keep and bear arms. You need it. You should insist on it. You should tolerate no government that bans it or infringes on it. You should arm yourselves because we are not coming. However, the jihad is coming. Sure looks like the Russians are, too. The Chinese? The North Koreans? Al Qaeda? They are coming. We are not. Not for you, anyway. Even if we did, we would not stay forever and you would be left with the same mess as before, and you in North Africa would still be a disarmed people at the mercy of those who sell AKs and RPGs to the local jihad of the day. Pay attention to what some Mexican citizens have accomplished in places. Demand your own right to keep and bear arms. Insist on it....
