We as the community of Bekkersdal are unhappy with the service delivery and the people in power, Unfortunately, we as the community do not agree with the approach that has been taken so far, we are divided in this. My proposal is, those who do not agree with the illegal striking find a more formal and legal way to force the municipalities hand, in order to find a more permanent solution, even in future, while the strikes are happening, Two heads are better then one 1. Take the Mayor/Westonaria Municipality to court, I’m sure we have people in the people in the community which have studied law? a. Sue the municipality for services not delivered. b. Demand an audit of the funds and budget c. Demand an audit of the hiring practices of municipality 2. You didn’t vote for the Mayor, ANC chose someone we didn’t know, go to the ANC, demand that they take action, or we vote for another party? a. If another party wins the election for Westrand, a new Mayor will be put in place b. We get together as a community, and decide an alternative which will provide better services. 3. In selecting our new Mayor, we then choose someone who lives with us in the community, who will share in the demise of Bekkersdal. a. Someone who is easily accessible. b. Someone who care about Bekkersdal as much as we do Two heads are better than one
