We ask You by Your Power and our humility to show Mercy to us. We ask You by Your Strength and our weakness, by Your Independence of us and our dependence upon You. Here is our lying, sinful forelock in Your Hands. Your slaves other than us are so many, and we have no refuge or sanctuary from You except with You. We ask You in the manner of the poor and wretched, we pray to You in the manner of one who humbly submits, we call on You in the manner of one who is fearful and blind, one whose neck is totally bowed to You, whose eyes shed tears for You, whose heart is humbled before You!
