XHAFERI (DZAFERI) AND KEZAROVSKI: severity of crimes? Talat Xhaferi (Dzaferi): an ethnic Albanian was a Captain in the Macedonian Army but when an illegal ethnic Albanian uprising broke out against the Macedonian state in 2001, deserted and joined the KLA-NLA-ONA-UCK with Ali Ahmeti and took up arms against the authorities... As a result civilians and soldiers were killed. An agreement, the Ohrid Framework Agreement (OFA) was strong armed into effect by the EU and NATO and as a consequence an amnesty - once again strong armed by the EU and NATO - freed Ahmeti and Xhaferi from possible prosecution for treason, mutiny, desertion, murder etc. Irony of ironies, Xhaferi becomes Macedonias Defence Minister in 2013. ------------ Tomislav Kezarovski: Macedonian journalist sentenced to 4 years jail for revealing the identity of a protected witness: An article he wrote that was published in 2008 He was prosecuted in 2013, five years after the article - He was leaked a police report - The witness at the time of publication in 2008 had not entered the witness protection program - Because the witness was not in the protection program, there is no case to answer for.
