We at Antrimnow have been sent this view of J one. What do you think. I have lived nearby and occasionally worked within Junction One in various jobs, for 7-8 years. Its fair to say it has declined sharply since I first saw it at a couple of years old. Additions like the cinema should have helped, but it is emptier every year. Parking- there are six spaces for parent and child. Woefully short of what is needed. Otherwise, plenty of parking overall. Junction One boasts of 70+ shops, but a quick count puts this as a rather dreamy figure- around half of the units are unoccupied. There is certainly nowhere near 70+ shops- maybe 40ish at best? It badly needs maintenance- though it has been evident every time I have been down that this is in progress. The music played is bizarre, but enjoyable as it is certainly unlike other shopping centres- though possibly having all speakers working would help. All the empty shops have been pushed to one side of Junction One- this is a bit poorly thought out as they are on the end with Next, which is a main entry from the main carpark- very poor first impression! Overall, it is badly in need of a new way of thinking- its declining more year on year, which is a real pity as it could be a fantastic place.
