We at the Butterfly Home, understand that some children from less privileged homes are wondering how to continue their education with another session just around the corner. We understand that they have the desire to learn and go to school just like their other friends and peers but due to their position, may just have to accept the hard fact that this might not be a possibility. We therefore have decided to extend our hands to some of these kids we can identify with and help sponsor them to school and further providing them the basic supplies that will help keep them in school as well. We intend to foot part or all of their school bills (depending on the situation), and provide them with a backpack full of school supplies to aid their learning process. With your help, we can help fill a backpack with adequate school supplies because these kids we have chosen are brilliant, willing to learn, respectful, kind, and mostly from less privileged homes. We hope that we can encourage them, with enough hope to motivate them to go on to be leaders in their own rights and make a difference in the future days. We shall also be keeping a close eye on the progress of the selected kids by offering them mentorship classes, helping with their homework and encouraging them to be the best in their individual classes as this would determine if they continue to be sponsored by the Association. We would also encourage and enroll them for vocational training courses during the school holidays as this would give them an added advantage and would also help nurture their creativity. We would be starting with 3 different schools at the moment, which means 6 children (either boys or girls) according to them meeting the above stated requirements and we do hope that as time goes on we shall expand our reach. We have chosen 6 students because we do not just want to equip them and not follow up with their progress effectively, our desire is to keep our eyes on them and encourage them every step of the way. In undertaking this project, we would be visiting the homes of these kids to fully understand their background and assess the roles of their parents/guardians in other to make an informed decision on who to enroll on the project.
