We believe surname is the identity of ones own ancestor, it retains ones belongingness to ones parents. But, if surname depicts parents identity, then why always women should take husbands surname after marriage? If we recollect the adage A marriage made in heaven, both should adopt the surnames especially in this contemporary era of gender-equality. Yes, we strongly believe that our marriage has some celestial origin. And, off course, it is distinct too! That is why, both of us have decided to change our surname to Dutta Mukherjee legally to retrospect both of our parents. After our marriage, both of us will continue to use the joint surname! :)
