We call certain plants “weeds”. We suggest they are invasive and that they have no place of value within our view of things. We fight them back and we seek to eradicate them. At great cost we attempt to banish them from the landscape. Yet when I find a purpose for these weeds, when I apply a taste for them, or a cure; when I harvest them, they seem to disappear into pleasant coexistence with everything else. Eventually, I find myself nurturing these plants that others call weeds so that I may sustain a harvest. Some people would like to throw me in jail for doing this.
