We came across this guy a few days ago, tucked in the back corner of Wendys. He had everything he owned in a few small bags. I watched his mannerisms, how he carried himself..cleaned his glasses...you could just see the goodness pouring outta this man. He finally tilted his head back and fell asleep. I slipped quietly over and left some money on his table. I have worried about him since Sunday night..seriously worried about him. Did he have a place to sleep..enough to eat, warm gloves? So after I clocked out of work, Mik and I went back to check on him.. Yep, he was there, tucked in his corner..so we pulled up the table next to him and struck up a conversation. He served in the Army and Reserves for 25 years. He was a substitute music teacher. His eyes lit up when he talked of the kids and teaching..he wants to be in the position to teach again. He never complained once. Not once. He was a joy to have dinner with. We will visit him every chance we get. I wish him the best and in future visits see what we can do to help. Guys, meet Eddie. If you run across him sit down and listen.
