We came out to NYC with the hopes of getting housed and finding - TopicsExpress

We came out to NYC with the hopes of getting housed and finding jobs. We found bits of work here and there, but have been unable to find stable work, and the housing opportunities fell through. Now that the freezing temperatures are rolling in and we are sleeping on the streets, we feel that it would be best if we left the region as soon as possible before it gets worse. We wouldnt be so worried about the cold if we did not have our cat (Justice Meow) with us. Chris Dopher has been offered work by a friend in Los Angeles and that is also where his family resides. We have the option of staying with them while he works through the winter. We are very sad and disappointed that we made it all the way out here just to leave, but honestly, it is the smart thing to do at this point. We would rather not freeze to death while sleeping on the streets and since we have opportunities available in Los Angeles to NOT freeze to death, we figured we should do whatever we can to get out there. We have looked into rideshares and considered our options, but with this horrible storm hitting the whole country, hitchhiking is out of the question and there arent many rideshares going 3000 miles. Any donations are appreciated and gets the three of us one step further away from freezing solid and one step closer to getting housed. Every dollar adds up, and if you cant help, please pass this along. Maybe someone out there can. Thank you for your time and support, we love you all
