We can confirm that three people will appear at Aberdeen Sheriff - TopicsExpress

We can confirm that three people will appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court following a number of incidents where elderly residents were targeted in their own homes. Two men aged 26 and 24, along with a 21-year-old female have been detained and charged as part of the national campaign, Operation Monarda 2, against doorstep crime. They were arrested in connection with a series of incidents at domestic properties in Aberdeen and Balmedie last week. Inspector Jim Hume of Police Scotland said: We will deal swiftly with any form of doorstep crime that is brought to our attention. These sorts of crimes can affect anyone in our communities but elderly people can be particularly vulnerable and I would ask the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious behaviour to Police Scotland on 101. Operation Monarda 2, which ended on Friday 18 April, was a national campaign to tackle bogus callers and rogue traders. Police Scotland worked with partner agencies such as trading standards officers to highlight the issue, educate the public on the types of crimes and take enforcement action against doorstep criminals.
