We can expect mostly sunny skies and near record high temperatures - TopicsExpress

We can expect mostly sunny skies and near record high temperatures here in Taylor today. Gulf moisture returns to the area during the overnight period tonight as winds shift back to the south which may result in some patchy fog Wednesday morning. Cloud cover will continue to increase during the day on Wednesday so high temperatures shouldn’t be quite as warm as today. Our next cold front has picked up a little speed and now looks like it will arrive here during the day on Thursday. Strong north winds, rain, and possibly an isolated thunderstorm will accompany the front’s passage. It also appears a condition known as isentropic lift (often incorrectly referred to as overrunning) will develop behind the front which will keep rain chances in the forecast through Saturday night. There is a slight chance for freezing rain to occur Friday and Saturday night – particularly along and east of the I-35 corridor. If you have to travel during these times, caution would be advised on bridges and overpasses. Friday and Saturday will be cold, wet, and windy as temperatures struggle to reach the upper 30’s. Rain ends and temperatures begin to warm up a little on Sunday and Monday but will still remain well below normal. A reinforcing cold front may be headed this way later next week. More on this later.
