We can learn from the hospitality of the world (the Martha Stewart version), but there is so much more to hospitality and welcoming as we consider The Rule of St. Benedict. It is an attitude toward ourselves, toward our families and those close to us, toward strangers, toward life, and even toward the earth and the environment, that can grow in us—a way to happiness and to holiness. Father Volker Futter, OSB, leads the retreat "Hospitality: An Attitude of the Heart", bringing rich experience from pastoral ministry in numerous parishes around the country and as a missionary in South Africa to his retreat work. He is the Subprior, Oblate director and mission procurator of Christ the King Priory.
